Three secure ways to see exactly how much is on your card, with no fees and no waiting.
Pick your method
-
Online portal
Fastest method. Enter card number, expiry, and CVV to see your balance and full history.
-
By phone
Call the toll-free number on the back of your card. Automated, free, and 24/7.
-
Mobile-friendly
Both the portal and phone line work seamlessly from any smartphone — no app required.
Method 1 — Online (recommended)
- Open the official balance portal in any browser.
- Enter the 16-digit card number from the front of your card.
- Enter the expiry date (MM/YY) and 3-digit CVV from the back.
- Submit the form. Your available balance, pending transactions, and recent activity appear instantly.
The online portal is encrypted end-to-end. We never see, store, or share your card data — all communication happens directly between your browser and the issuer.
Method 2 — Phone
- Call the toll-free number printed on the back of your card.
- Enter your card number using the keypad when prompted.
- Enter the expiry and CVV.
- The automated system reads your current balance.
The phone line is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and is free from any Canadian number including mobile.
Method 3 — Receipt at point of sale
Whenever you make a purchase with your JokerCard, the remaining balance prints on the receipt automatically. This is the fastest way to keep track during regular shopping.
Understanding your balance
- Available balance — money you can spend right now.
- Pending authorizations — temporary holds (gas pumps, hotels) that have not yet settled. They release in 1–7 business days.
- Settled transactions — purchases that have been finalized.
Tips for checking safely
- Only check your balance on the official URL printed on your card or receipt.
- Avoid clicking balance-check links in emails or text messages — they are usually phishing.
- If a website asks for personal information beyond card number, expiry, and CVV, leave the page.
- After checking, sign out of public computers and clear the browser session.
Got a zero balance you can't explain?
Review the transaction list carefully. Pending hotel or rental-car deposits can appear as large pending charges. If you spot a transaction you did not make, freeze the card and contact the issuer immediately — Canadian zero-liability protection covers unauthorized use.
